Bosques de la Pradera Orchids, Birds and Butterflies

Bosques de la Pradera is a private reserve in the rural district of Alto Bonito, on the road out of Manizales toward Neira. Where there used to be pasture, there is now a planted forest, and the birds have returned with it.

The tour goes through the greenhouses of orchids, succulents and cacti, continues along the trail among the trees and ends at the quebrada El Bohío (El Bohío stream), where there is time to rest by the water. Butterflies can be seen along the way and in the gardens of the house.

The tour is offered in Spanish or English, by reservation.
