Getting to Caldas

Most visitors to Caldas travel to Manizales first: as the capital, it has the most transportation options. You can get here by air or by land.

By air

La Nubia airport is Manizales' air terminal, about 8 km from downtown. It currently has regular flights from the Clic airline:

• Between Bogotá and Manizales, every day. These flights are also sold under Avianca's code.
• Between Medellín (Olaya Herrera airport) and Manizales, on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

By land

The Autopista del Café connects Caldas with Quindío and Risaralda. From Cali and other destinations in the south of the country, Caldas is reached via Armenia and the Autopista del Café.

Manizales is about 290 km from Bogotá on a road that crosses northern Tolima and central Cundinamarca. The capital of Caldas sits midway between Medellín and the capitals of the Coffee Triangle, and the road toward La Dorada and Honda (Tolima) is the route most used to connect Manizales with the Caribbean region.
