Sabores de Caldas is back! This gastronomic event, the largest in the department, returns bigger than ever for its third edition to delight every palate with the most representative flavors of the region. This year, Sabores de Caldas began in the Occidente Próspero subregion, in Anserma, on September 14 and 15, and will continue its itinerary week by week through the six subregions of Caldas.
A New Surprise: International Gastronomic Congress
This year, Sabores de Caldas will include an additional component: the International Gastronomic Congress, which will take place on November 13 and 14. This congress will feature national and international chefs, who will give talks, lectures and workshops, sharing their experiences with entrepreneurs in the gastronomic sector and food lovers from Manizales and Caldas.
Grand Finale in Manizales
The grand finale of Sabores de Caldas 2024 will be held on November 15, 16 and 17 at Expoferias in Manizales. This event will feature around 160 stands, offering a gastronomic variety from the six subregions of Caldas, as well as folkloric performances, stage shows and other attractions for the whole family.
Sabores de Caldas 2024 Began in Anserma
With a gastronomic offering that includes traditional dishes, specialty coffees, sweets, snacks and typical beverages, Sabores de Caldas kicked off in Anserma, in the Occidente Próspero subregion. This event will bring the most exquisite preparations to every corner of Caldas through November 15.
The opening ceremony took place on Saturday, September 14 at 10:00 a.m. in the Parque Jorge Robledo, with the presence of Juan Carlos Franco Duque, executive director of FENALCO Caldas; Omar Reina Muñoz, mayor of Anserma; Daissy Lorena Alzate, Secretary of Development, Employment and Innovation of the Gobernación de Caldas; and Tábata González, representing FONTUR.
Juan Carlos Franco highlighted the active participation of the Alcaldía de Anserma (mayor's office) and the presence of entrepreneurs showcasing the flavors of the department. “Today we begin in Anserma, but we will continue on to Marquetalia, Riosucio, Aguadas, Victoria, and we will conclude in November in Manizales. It is an invitation for everyone to enjoy the most important gastronomic event in the department.”
During the two days of the event, there were folkloric dances, live music and 12 gastronomic shows. Among the participants was chef Juan David Tabares, who prepared innovative dishes with typical ingredients from Caldas, highlighting our traditions and native recipes.
Chef Rafael Luengas also offered gastronomic shows that honored culinary knowledge, a legacy passed down from generation to generation. In addition, we had the participation of chefs from the SENA Gastronomy School and from other municipalities, such as Julián Andrés Ramírez, who shared his experience after 15 years of training abroad.

- November 15, 16 and 17: Manizales, Centro Sur.
